Senator Fuschillo Welcomes Environmental Contest Winners From Roosevelt To Albany

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) today welcomed almost 100 students from Ulysses Byas elementary school in Roosevelt to Albany to celebrate their participation in the New York State Senate’s I*ma*GREEN*nation program.

An entry from Ms. Nateasha McVea’s 5th grade class won first place in the grades 4-5 division of the statewide contest. The literature entry was the result of a cooperative effort of her entire class of fifteen students, all of whom joined Senator Fuschillo in Albany to receive their first place awards.

Senator Fuschillo also welcomed all of the students from the school who participated in the contest. "I am proud of all the students who participated in this project and who took the time to show the importance of conservation and environmental care," stated Senator Fuschillo. "This program is a great way for these students to help others learn about the environment and conservation and to learn about how they themselves can impact the world."

The I*ma*GREEN*nation program is a statewide competition for school children in grades one through eight. The goal is to encourage children to develop an awareness of the environment and its resources. There are four different project categories in the program: Arts & Crafts, Science and Technology, Literature and Video.
