
Senator Golden To Host September 11th Memorial Events In Bay Ridge And In Marine Park
State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) is today announcing his plans to host two September 11th Memorials to commemorate the 4th Anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sunday, September 11, 2005.
Senator Golden will host a memorial in Marine Park, by the Field House at Fillmore Avenue, at 6:00 p.m. The Memorial will feature prayers, a moment of silence, song and inspirational speeches.
Senator Golden will also host a memorial event at 8:00 p.m. on the 69th Street Pier at Bay Ridge Avenue and Shore Road. The memorial will pay tribute to the victims lost from this community through prayer, song, and a candle lighting ceremony. The ceremony will feature a 21-gun salute, a moment of silence and inspirational speeches.
At both events, two bunches of balloons, one bunch of 9 and one bunch of 11, will be released into the air in memory of the lives lost. Also at both events, the original song, "Towers in the Sky" will be performed by Shannon Grace.
