Senator Fuschillo Reads To Kindergarten Class As Part Of Birch Elementary School’s "community Read In"

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently read to Mrs. O’Toole’s kindergarten class as part of Birch Elementary School’s "Community Read In".

Senator Fuschillo read House Mouse, Senate Mouse by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the class. The story allowed the children to learn, in a fun way, about how a bill becomes a law and what Senator Fuschillo’s job is as a New York State Senator.

Afterwards, Senator Fuschillo asked the kids about their ideas for new laws.

"Birch’s ‘Community Read In’ day is a great way to show students that reading is an important skill for adults as well," said Senator Fuschillo. "I really enjoyed reading to the class and watching how much fun they had listening the story."
