Golden Brings Aid To Help Locals With Claims Related To Tornado Damage

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) is announcing that he has arranged for the New York State Department of Insurance emergency mobile unit, to be in the communities of Bay Ridge and Sunset Park in Brooklyn, struck by an F2 Tornado yesterday, to aid residents with insurance claims and questions related to property damage to their homes and automobiles.

Senator Golden stated, "I commend the New York State Insurance Department for their willigness to come to the streets and to the homeowners of Bay Ridge and Sunset Park damaged by the tornado that struck Brooklyn. For the residents who suffered broken windows, damage to their roofs, cars, sidewalks, and to the structural integrity of their homes, we must work them through this process to recover funds and to start the rebuilding."

Senator Golden will be hosting the New York State Insurance Department at the Bay Ridge Community Service Center, located at 6935-4th Avenue, in Brooklyn, on:

Friday, August 10, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 11, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Monday, August 13, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Golden continued, "There has been a tremendous outpour of support from the community who have extended their facilities such as Xaverian High School, Our Lady of Angels, Kingsborough Community College and others. I also thank the Bay Ridge Community Service Center for opening their doors and allowing us to use their facility. Working with the Community Emergency Response Team, we will work with each family, each car owner, each home owner to aid them."

The American Red Cross will be available at this site as well on these days.
