SENATOR GOLDEN LAUNCHES EXPRESS BUS SURVEY IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE SERVICE ON LOCAL EXPRESS BUS ROUTES

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has authored an express bus survey and will begin distributing it next week at local bus stops and through his office to riders of the X 27/X37 and the X 28/X38 bus routes.

The survey is designed to give those who utilize local express bus service in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, and Bensonhurst, an opportunity to share their comments related to the service currently being provided. Senator Golden is looking forward to receiving responses which will be instrumental in his upcoming discussions with the Metropolitan Transit Authority so to provide adequate service for all commuters.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "On the mornings of Tuesday, October 7th at 86th Street and 7th Avenue, and Wednesday, October 8th, at 69th Street and 3rd Avenue, my staff and I will be talking to commuters and distributing the survey. I look forward to receiving responses from many commuters which will assist in addressing service problems experienced on these lines. I am confident that this survey will be successful in bringing about changes that will improve service on the express buses."

Golden continued, "I remind commuters that it is very important to note the date, time, and bus number if you can whenever making a complaint to my office or MTA New York City Transit. This helps in pinpointing specific problem areas that the MTA can focus on. I remain committed to helping provide the best transportation services possible to the community."

The survey asks for commuters to respond to issues related to overcrowding, the length of the commute, and about the weekend express bus service. Senator Golden encourages anyone interested in completing the survey to contact his office at (718) 238-6044 or visit his website at www.senatorgolden.com. The survey can be returned via regular mail to Senator Golden’s office at 7408-5th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11209 or via fax at (718) 238-6170.
