Senator Golden Obtains $1 Million For Education

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has secured $1 million in funding to support local schools in District 20, 21 and 22, each Parent Teacher Association in his district, as well as local colleges, and programs that will benefit students and learning through his district.

Senator Golden allocated $50,000 to each District 20, 21 and 22 to be assigned to school projects within the respective districts. Senator Golden additionally awarded grants to support educational programs at Adelphi Academy, Children of the City, the Ralph J. Sansone Foundation, HeartShare, Polytechnic University, SUNY Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center and Xaverian High School.

P.S. 48, P.S. 102, P.S. 164, P.S. 176, P.S. 207, P.S. 212, I.S. 259 have also received grants towards programs at their schools to support the libraries, math programs and school renovations of auditoriums and more.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "It has always been my priority to support the work of our community schools to insure that they have the best facilities and programs. I am proud to represent some of the best school districts in the City of New York and as such, I work each and everyday to make sure that the great scores and the success continues. The future of our neighborhood, City and Nation is in the hands of those in our classrooms today, so its so important to make sure that our schools have the tools they need to teach our children."

Senator Golden continued, "I am also proud to support local high schools, colleges and community programs that advance education for our children as well. This funding, along with record levels of funding awarded last year to expand some of our local schools, will together raise the standards of education in our neighborhood."
