Senator Huntley Hosts Lupus Awareness and Education Forum
State Senator Shirley L. Huntley will convene a forum to promote community awareness of the chronic disorder known as Lupus. The purpose of the event is to bring the community and health specialists and advocates together to foster a dialogue to inform residents of symptoms, and available treatment to those already suffering with Lupus. Panelists participating in the event include representatives from the Lupus Alliance of America-Long Island/Queens Affiliate, S.L.E. Lupus Foundation, and the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center/Medi Sys Family Health Care.
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body, including the skin, joints, and organs inside the body.
