Wyckoff Heights Medical Center gets $58.5M funding for programs

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border has been awarded $58.5 million to fund their health center and ambulatory services programs as part of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s $672 million statewide investment to improve healthcare services.

“Governor Cuomo has come through on his commitment to invest in North Brooklyn’s health care system; a system that has been in need of attention for quite some time,” said state Senator Martin Malavé Dilan. “[The March 4] announcement means new programs and services will become available for the medically underserved and expanded ambulatory services will soon be able to get patients to the care they need and deserve.”

The funds are being made available through Cuomo’s Capital Restructuring Financing Program, which was approved by the legislature as part of last year’s state budget.

The program supports the goals of the Delivery System Reform Incentive Program (DSRIP), created in 2014 after an agreed to waiver between New York and the federal government resulted in $7.3 billion in Medicaid savings.

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center was awarded funding for their Wyckoff Ambulatory Transformation Initiative, which garnered $52,926,666, and the DeKalb Federally Qualified Health Center, which was awarded $5,570,000.
