Rep. Malliotakis vows​ to fight congestion​ pricing until​ President-elect Trump​ takes office

BROOKLYN/STATEN ISLAND - DAYS​ AFTER A STATE SENATOR URGED NY​ GOV. HOCHUL to implement​ congestion pricing, Rep. Nicole​ Malliotakis (R-11) on Tuesday, Nov. 12,​ joined a bipartisan group of local​ elected officials united against the​ potential return of congestion pricing​ The group pointed out that President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to​ terminate the program during his first​week back in office in January.

Malliotakis stated her intention to​ prolong the fight until after​ Inauguration Day on Jan. 20 and to​ find every possible legislative and​ legal angle to abort congestion pricing,​ The group fighting congestion pricing​ has several Democrats as well,​ including State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-23), who cited​ environmental and health concerns,​ such as high asthma and cancer rates.
