
‘Take your battery projects elsewhere’: Staten Island residents confront energy developer at heated Community Board meeting

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- At a recent standing-room-only Community Board 2 meeting, more than 100 irate Staten Island residents gathered to collectively deliver a message to NineDot Energy: “Take your battery projects elsewhere.”
Representatives were on hand at the meeting to offer statements of opposition from the offices of Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn), Borough President Vito Fossella, Councilman David Carr (R-Mid-Island/South Brooklyn), State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/Southern Brooklyn), State Sen. Andrew Lanza (R-South Shore) and Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R-East Shore/South Brooklyn).
