Senator Johnson Honors Joyce Peisker Ratushny Of Deer Park As A Woman Of Distinction

State Capitol, Albany, New York, June 27, 2006 -- State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, honored Joyce Peisker Ratushny of Deer Park as a New York State Woman of Distinction at a special ceremony held in Albany on June 20th. In the past, Ms. Ratushny has been voted one of the Town of Babylon’s "100 Most Influential People of the Century." She is a retired teacher who is a lifetime member of the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) and a trustee of the Deer Park Library.

Over the years, Ms. Ratushny has taken on several leadership roles within the community. She has served as president of the Deer Park Archives and a member of the Town of Babylon’s Historical Commission. Ms. Ratushny is also a member, past president and "Woman of the Year" honoree of the Deer Park Business and Professional Woman’s Club. As a lifelong resident of Deer Park, Ms. Ratushny has become a prominent figure throughout the community, dedicating her time and service working with organizations to promote education as a top priority.

Other Women of Distinction who were also honored by Senator Johnson were Mary Holmes Reid of Bay Shore and Audrey Jacullo of North Babylon.
