State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, is pictured with members of Girl Scout Troop 1254 of Copiague when he sponsored an Operation Cookie event in conjunction with Suffolk County Girl Scouts at the Naval Reserve Center in Amityville on Armed Forces Day. Senator Johnson was one of several people who stopped by the Girl Scouts booth to purchase cookies to send to our troops serving abroad. Since the Operation Cookie program was launched by the Girl Scouts in 2003, more than one million cookies have been shipped to our troops thanks to generous Long Islanders.
