
Senator Johnson Celebrates Arbor Day 2007

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee recently attended the Long Island Arboricultural Association’s annual Pruning Event at Wildwood State park in Wading River. While there, Senator Johnson had the chance to congratulate Jenifer Chiodo whose art work of oak leaves was chosen among several entries to win a place on the official LIAA 2007 Arbor Day Poster. The Long Island Arboricultural Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to education for the appreciation and care of shade trees and shrubs on Long Island. In addition, the association strives to stimulate interest in tree planting and preservation, to encourage research towards appropriate protection of trees and shrubs and to encourage the practices of efficient and proper tree care methods.
