Emily Richey of Stony Brook recently concluded a summer-long internship with Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District). Ms. Richey spent the summer helping coordinate Senator Flanagan’s Summer Reading Program and providing general assistance to Senator Flanagan’s staff.
Emily, who is entering her senior year at Ward Melville High School, volunteered her time in Senator Flanagan’s office to gain experience in government.
"Emily was a great addition to our staff in Smithtown and an extremely valuable asset to my entire staff. I thank her for all her hard work this summer and wish her all the best in the upcoming school year," said Senator Flanagan.
Local students who wish to gain experience as an intern in Senator Flanagan’s office should call 631-361-2154 for further information.
