State to Fund Arts and Cultural Projects in Rockland

(ALBANY) New York State Senator Thomas Morahan today announced that the New York State Council on the Arts will be providing $ 190,613 in grants for cultural programs in Rockland County.
The following organizations have been approved for project funding:
Arts Council of Rockland, Inc., located in Spring Valley $94, 518
Historical Society of Rockland County, located in New City $8, 900
Hudson Vagabond Puppets, located in Blauvelt $9, 000
Penguin Players Ltd, located in Thiells $18, 067
Rockland Center for the Arts, located in West Nyack $47, 045
Rockland Conservatory of Music, located in Spring Valley $13, 083
In announcing the state grants, Heather A. Hitchens, Executive Director of the NYS Council on the Arts praised the Senator for his role in supporting cultural projects & arts organizations. “With your support, the New York State Council on the Arts continues to play a central role in nurturing and sustaining arts and cultural organizations across the state through grantmaking and technical assistance. Thank you for all that you do to cultivate strong arts organizations in your district and in the state,” said Hitchens.
