Dr. Ada Grabowski, Albion School Superintendent, recognized as Woman of Distinction

Senator George Maziarz (R-C, Newfane) is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, Albion Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ada Grabowski, was recognized as a 2010 New York State “Woman of Distinction.”

“I was extremely proud to be able to nominate such a worthy constituent for this special honor,” Senator Maziarz said, “and I was delighted to welcome her to the state capital for the award ceremony.  Since 2002 Dr. Grabowski has provided excellent leadership in Albion, and everywhere I go she is held in high esteem.”

Although she is retiring at the end of the school year, Dr. Grabowski will leave an exemplary legacy at the Albion Central School District.  For the past eighteen years, she has taken a vested interest in helping students discover their true potential by modeling and teaching them ways in which they can contribute to their local and global communities.  She was instrumental in developing the district’s mission of “Achievement, Character, and Success for Life,” and dedicated herself to embedding the philosophy of character education and service learning into every child’s educational experience.

Dr. Grabowski and other Women of Distinction from around New York State were honored at a special ceremony in Albany’s Legislative Office Building on Tuesday.  Each of the 62 State Senators nominated one deserving woman from his or her district for the recognition.

The Senate’s “Women of Distinction” program was created in 1998 to honor New York women who exemplify personal excellence, or whose professional achievements or acts of courage, selflessness, integrity, or perseverance serve as an example to all New Yorkers.
