I am delighted that three public libraries in Monroe County – Rochester Public Library-Rundel Building, Irondequoit Public Library-Helen McGraw Branch, and Scottville Free Library – have been selected to receive nearly $600,000 in funding through the State Public Library Construction Grant Program for needed restorations and structural improvements to their existing facilities. I commend city, town and library officials for their hard work and determination to secure this important state money.
I am keenly aware of how valuable the services and resources available at local libraries, like Rochester, Irondequoit and Scottsville, are to students, professionals, researchers, and residents in Monroe County and surrounding counties. With the number of library patrons greatly increasing each year, our libraries need our assistance more than ever. I will continue my support to these libraries and other libraries in our area.
