Joe Griffo Adds Upstate Flavor to State Fair Cooking Demonstrations

Senator Joseph A. Griffo will be featuring New York-based products Thursday as he participates in two separate cooking demonstrations at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.

Griffo will be appearing at the New York Beef Council assisting in a special demonstration recipe. Griffo will also be participating at the Home and Health Center Demonstration Kitchen where he will be preparing various sauces and glazes using New York Maple Syrup.

“Nothing can beat the taste of Upstate New York,” Griffo said. “New York’s maple products industry is a major source of jobs and economic impact all across New York’s North Country, and I’m looking forward to helping New Yorkers from Montauk to Jamestown understand why there is nothing like New York Maple Syrup.”

Griffo also noted that New York State’s farms produce meat and other products, making agriculture one of the top economic sectors in many Upstate counties. “Agriculture is in the roots of Upstate communities once you get away from the highways and out into the rural areas. The State Fair is an outstanding time to celebrate the home-grown goodness of New York State, and I am honored to be part of a demonstration to help fair-goers understand that many of the greatest parts of life in New York State are a long way from the skyscrapers and the concrete.”
