Senator Fuschillo Joins American Cancer Society in Thanking “Tutors for a Cure” for Raising Money to Fight Cancer

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently joined with the American Cancer Society in thanking the three student founders of “Tutors For a Cure” for raising money to help provide services to cancer patients and find a cure for cancer.
The three Kennedy High School students, Ross Iscowitz, Samantha Finkel, and Jordan Horowitz, founded “Tutors For A Cure” this past January. The student run organization offers peer tutoring to students in grades 4 through 12. The tutors charge an hourly fee and donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. The organization has already raised over $500 which the American Cancer Society is using to fund patient outreach services and cancer research.
“Ross, Jordan, and Samantha are three very energetic and motivated students who are eager to help others. Their efforts will really make a difference in many people’s lives. I join with the American Cancer Society in thanking them for all they have done so far in the fight against cancer,” said Senator Fuschillo.
"Each of these students can be really proud that they have developed a program to not only help fellow students, but also enable the American Cancer Society’s longstanding commitment to stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back," said Marie Cimaglia, Regional Vice President of the American Cancer Society's Nassau region. "Volunteer driven activities such as the tutoring program are largely behind the success of more birthdays we are celebrating today. We are honored that they have chosen the American Cancer Society and proud that they are helping fellow students blaze a path to an even greater future."
