Senator Golden Announces Sing for Hope Street Pianos Schedule for 2011

Sing for Hope Street Pianos 2011 brings live art to the 5 boroughs with the installation of 88 pianos, representing the 88 keys on a piano, placed at locations throughout the 5 boroughs. The Shore Road Parks Conservancy in conjunction with “sing for hope” and the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that Bay Ridge are receiving 2 baby grand pianos. These pianos will be placed in John Paul Jones Park gazebo on 101st Street and 4th Avenue and the 90th Street gazebo on Shore Road. The pianos feature formal and impromptu concerts by amateurs and artists for a 2 week period, beginning June 18th and ending July 2nd.
A series of “Pop-Up Concerts” will be performed as follows:
Saturday June 18 7:00 PM (Rain date – June 21) Singer/songwriter,Tony Travis, will perform his greatest hits - Location: 90th Street gazebo
Wednesday June 22 7:00 PM (Rain date – June 24 )- Mary Carmosino performs standard and Broadway show tunes/sing-a-long Location: 90th Street gazebo
Sunday June 26 2:30 PM - Pianist Joshua Scheer, will play a medley of standards from the American Songbook Location: John Paul Jones Park gazebo
Tuesday June 28, 7:00 PM (Rain date – June 29) - Fred Nelson, plays a medley of his original music - Location 90th Street gazebo
Thursday June 30 1:30 (Rain date – July 1) - Sylvia Cooper, multi-talented composer/pianist entertains with “Seniors-In-Touch" - Location: 90th Street gazebo
Thursday. June 30 2:30 - Irena & the Russian Chorale & Asian Chorus - Location: 90th Street gazebo
Thursday June 30, 2:00 PM (Rain date – July 1) Marybelle Abia, plays classical music - Location: John Paul Jones Park gazebo
