Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently partnered with South Nassau Communities Hospital in sponsoring a free Prostate Cancer screening program at the Freeport Recreation Center. Nearly 100 men participated in the screening program and received a PSA blood test.

“Early detection is vital in any cancer treatment and I am so pleased that we are able to provide this important health service for men. It is wonderful to see so many residents take advantage of this free screening program,” said Senator Fuschillo.

Prostate Cancer is the second most common cancer in men, with approximately one in six men being diagnosed with it in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society.

Men who were unable to participate in the screening program but would like additional information about upcoming prostate screening programs can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
