Joins in Send-off for Hundreds of Students and Teachers to Albany Aid Rally
State Senator Patty Ritchie joined hundreds of North Country students, parents and teachers early Wednesday morning as they boarded buses for Albany, where they will team with groups from across Upstate to urge more state aid for rural schools.
Senator Ritchie met with the groups in Ogdensburg at 4:30 AM, before heading to Canton at 5 to send off students and teachers, and thanked them for joining the fight for rural schools.
"A quality education for our students is—and must remain—a priority for our state.” Senator Ritchie told the group. "By making this trip today, you’re helping to make the case for our schools.”
Senator Ritchie is scheduled to address the larger, statewide group later this morning in the capital.
