Seniors with questions about the state’s EPIC prescription drug program can get them answered at Senator Ritchie’s Senior Health and Wellness Fair, being held on Thursday October 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fulton’s War Memorial, located at 609 West Broadway.
Special guest Senator David Valesky, Chair of the Senate’s Aging Committee, will co-host a Q&A forum on EPIC, the newly restored program which helps low-income seniors—including more than 10,000 in Senator Ritchie’s district—with the cost of their prescription drugs.
Senator Ritchie worked with Senator Valesky and Governor Cuomo to restore funds to EPIC in the past two State Budgets and the program will once again cover co-pays for prescription medications beginning January 1st.
“So many seniors depend on EPIC to lead healthy lives, and almost every day, our offices get calls from seniors who have questions about this very important program,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I would like to thank Senator Valesky for lending his time to answer some of those questions. By being better informed, our area’s seniors can continue to live their lives without worrying about the high cost of prescription drugs.”
Thursday’s event will also feature more than 60 exhibitors offering tips and tools for healthy living, as well as a free lunch and entertainment by the area band “Anybody’s Guess.”
Senator Ritchie recently hosted Senior Health and Wellness Fairs in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, where more than 1,000 seniors had the opportunity to access tips and tools promoting good health.
