Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently sponsored a free legal services program in Copiague to continue to help residents recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.
Senator Fuschillo arranged to bring the New York Legal Assistance Group’s (NYLAG) Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between NYLAG and the New York State Office of Court Administration that brings free, civil legal services directly into communities, to Copiague to help residents continue to recover from Hurricane Sandy. NYLAG attorneys and staff provided free legal assistance to residents on matters such as FEMA and insurance claims, storm related consumer matters, and other storm related legal issues.
Residents who were unable to attend this program but would like to take advantage of this service can call NYLAG’s storm response hotline at 212-584-3365.
