The funding—which represents a $22,000 addition to the increase in state education funding local schools received this year—will be used by educators for technology, supplies and other improvements in the classroom.
“From teachers who have dedicated their entire lives to teaching and those who are just starting out to teachers who have overcome major challenges to pursue their careers and those who have literally saved lives, this group of educators is truly dynamic,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I am so pleased to be able to both honor and provide extra resources to the teachers in our region who are going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their students.”
Honorees were nominated for Senator Ritchie’s “Teachers of Excellence” program for their dedication and commitment to education by colleagues, former students, friends and family members.
