BRONX, NY – Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj, and The Morris Park Community Association hosted The Second Annual Taste of Morris Park on Saturday at Loreto Park. Hundreds of families gathered at the festival to indulge in the great fare local restaurants offer, while enjoying live music, miniature golf, baseball games, spin-art activities, face-painting, popcorn, cotton candy, and other activities.
Participating restaurants included 900 Park Restaurant, Better Gourmet Health Kitchen, Burger Time, Good to Go, La Masa, Patricia’s Restaurant, Patsy’s Pizzeria, and The Chocolate Place. Attendees had the opportunity to have a taste of many types of food ranging from empanadas, hamburgers, pizza, pasta dishes, salads, speciality sandwiches, and a variety of desserts.
“As a lifelong Morris Park resident, I am proud to host the second annual ‘Taste of Morris Park.’ These neighborhood businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy, and it is important to support and promote them. Families gathered today to enjoy the great culinary delights that Morris Park has to offer while spending quality time with one another during this fun-filled day,” said Senator Jeff Klein.
“Morris Park Avenue is notorious for it’s great eateries, and I am proud to team up with Senator Klein in sharing the best of Morris Park with all to enjoy. Morris Park continues to grow its businesses and it is important that we support them to keep this corridor alive. I’m so happy everyone came out to sample the best of what Morris Park has to offer,” said Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj.
“It was nice to be a part of the community and experience all of the food tasting we have in Morris Park. I thank Senator Klein and Assemblyman Gjonaj for this great day,” Rocky Miano, Burger Time.
“As a new local business, I was happy to participate in this great event and show everyone all of the wonderful food choices we have at Better.
