Addabbo Participates in Ceremony to Dedicate Street Sign to 9/11 Victim
August 1, 2016
Last week, Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. took part in a ceremony at Beach 124th Street and the Boardwalk in Rockaway to unveil a new street sign in honor of Lisa King Johnson, who died in the attacks on 9/11. In 2004, Addabbo had the honor of dedicating the initial street sign in memory of Lisa, but the sign was destroyed during Superstorm Sandy. The Senator thanked Rockaway residents Danny and Linda Ruscillo for their efforts in helping to obtain the replacement sign, as well as the Department of Transportation Queens Borough Commissioner Nicole Garcia and the Department of Parks and Recreation for their cooperation. He also thanked the many Rockaway residents, along with Lisa’s friends and family, who attended the ceremony, including Lisa’s daughter Kristie, who unveiled the new sign.
