Ritchie Announces Free Rides To Jefferson County Senior Fair

Senator Patty Ritchie is urging Jefferson County residents to take advantage of free bus rides to her upcoming Senior Health and Wellness Fair, taking place at the  Bruce M. Wright Memorial Conference Center, located on Faichney Drive in Watertown on Wednesday, October 19th.

 The free event—which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—will feature over 50 exhibitors offering seniors health tips, wellness checks and free flu shots, available with Medicare or insurance ID.  Attendees will also be invited to enjoy entertainment and a free lunch, made possible through funding secured by Senator Ritchie and prepared by local culinary students.  In addition, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will also be on hand for a prescription drug take-back that will offer seniors a safe way to dispose of unwanted or expired medications. 

“A journey to a long, healthy life begins with small steps—like those offered at my Senior Health and Wellness Fairs,” said Senator Ritchie.

“My Senior Health and Wellness Fair offers our aging population with so many opportunities to learn from local experts about how they can improve their well-being, as well as gives them a chance to visit with friends, enjoy a nutritious lunch and entertainment.  This year’s event will be better than ever, and I’m looking forward to seeing seniors on October 19th.

Free bus transportation will be provided to and from the event at the following times and  locations.
