April 25, 2016
Senator Bill Larkin (R,C,I- 39th District) is pleased to announce that he has secured a $300,000 state grant to help revitalize the Town of Haverstraw’s infrastructure. The funding comes from a State and Municipal (SAM) funding grant.
“This infrastructure funding for the Town of Haverstraw will help boost local economic development, result in safer roads and enhance the quality of life for town residents,” said Senator Larkin. “I am pleased that I could do my part in securing this important funding for the Town and I look forward to working closely with the Supervisor and other local officials to fund additional worthwhile projects.”
"The people of the Town of Haverstraw want to see leaders from both parties work together", said Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips. "I am proud to continue working with Senator Larkin time and time again on a variety of issues including addressing the needs of our aging infrastructure. I have no doubt that without Senator Larkin's presence, leadership and commitment Haverstraw would not have received these much needed funds."
Senator Larkin noted that funding will help the local Highway and Parks Departments make needed improvements to the Town’s roads, sidewalks, and curbing while updating the drainage system.
