(Buffalo, NY) – New York State Senator Chris Jacobs, Co-Chair of the Senate Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction announced that the task force field hearing held in Buffalo this week could now be viewed in its entirety on the State Senate’s YouTube channel. The link is www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpp1T9KY93E.
Jacobs and his fellow Co-Chairs, Senator George Amedore and Senator Fred Akshar, heard from a wide range of stakeholders that included law enforcement, health care professionals, and substance abuse and addiction service providers. Task force members also heard inspirational testimony from a recovering addict, and listened to tragic stories from family members who lost loved ones.
“The experiences and information shared were as valuable as they were insightful,” said Jacobs. What we heard here in WNY and other hearings being conducted throughout the state will be very helpful in developing strategies and legislative initiatives going forward,” he concluded.
