(Buffalo NY) – New York State Senator Chris Jacobs announced today that he will be hosting a Lyme Disease Forum to raise awareness of the rise of the debilitating disease across Western New York. The forum will take place on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Erie Community College South Campus, Building #5, 4041 Southwestern Boulevard in Orchard Park.
“Despite the severity of these conditions and the frequency with which they occur, there is a general lack of public awareness of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases,” said Senator Jacobs.
“So many Western New Yorkers have been impacted that I think it’s critically important to better educate the public so we can improve outcomes for families affected by these illnesses.”
The forum is open to the public and people are encouraged to attend. More information can be found by contacting Senator Jacobs’ office at jacobs@nysenate.gov or (716) 854-8705.
