Statement From Senator Krueger On President Trump's Cabinet Nominations

New York – State Senator Liz Krueger released the following statement today regarding the continuing Congressional review of President Donald Trump's cabinet nominees:

"In only the first week of President Donald Trump's new administration, he has made it very clear to all Americans and to the world that he has nothing but contempt for the values and traditions that have shaped our nation for centuries. His deeply un-American, unconstitutional executive order attacking immigrants and refugees, and his rogues gallery of racist, sexist, homophobic, and unqualified cabinet nominees should be met with bipartisan opposition. But unsurprisingly, most Republicans in Congress and in the states are falling over themselves to jump on Trump's hateful and fearmongering bandwagon.

"That's why it's so important that Democrats in Congress stay strong in the face of the Trump agenda, starting with his cabinet nominees. I urge my colleagues in Congress to resist Trump's 'swamp cabinet' through any and all means available to them. There is no more time for business as usual; we must throw a wrench in the gears of Trump's agenda before he rolls back a hundred years of American progress."
