Senator Larkin Presents $50,000 Check To Orange County District Attorney
August 23, 2017
Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, 39th District) presented a ceremonial $50,000 check today to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler at his office in Goshen, NY. This funding will be used toward law enforcement activities at the discretion of the District Attorney’s office.
“Senator Larkin continues to support our efforts in combating the opioid epidemic here in Orange County,” said District Attorney David Hoovler. “This funding will be used to purchase equipment as we increase our efforts to investigate and prosecute opioid sales. Time and time again we have asked Senator Larkin for help and he continues to provide us with the tools we need to protect our communities.”
“I learned a long time ago to cooperate and graduate,” said Senator Larkin. “We must always cooperate with our leaders and ask them what they need from us. In doing so, we will have the opportunity to impact our communities in a meaningful way. It has been my honor to provide District Attorney David Hoovler with the resources his office needs.”
Senator Larkin will continue to work with District Attorney Hoovler on educational programs as well as drug treatment solutions as part of a comprehensive plan to address the ongoing heroin, opioid and synthetic drug epidemic. Senator Larkin is a member of the New York State Senate Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction.
