Brooklyn, NY (2/27/2016) – On Monday, hundreds of community residents joined State Senator Kevin Parker and the A Shared Dream Foundation for the 14th Annual “A Shared Dream” Tribute Concert at Pilgrim Church - Renaissance Convention Center in Brooklyn. The concert featured gospel artist Jules Bartholomew & Judacamp, and was hosted by WBLS Radio Personality, Liz Black.
At the event, community members, religious leaders, and government officials took the stage to honor Dr. King’s life and legacy. In addition, an array of musical acts performed including Eleta McKay, Will Lugo, Drea d’ Nur, the Brooklyn United Marching Band, and Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy.
“It is a privilege to join in fellowship with members of the community to honor Dr. King,” said Senator Parker. “This tribute concert provides a platform for people of all ages to not only be reminded of Dr. King’s life and legacy, but to encourage us all to continue to fight for what’s right no matter how tough the road ahead may look.” The Senator concluded, “That’s what Dr. King did and stood for. Resistance. Perseverance.”
A Shared Dream was made possible by the generous contributions of Charter Communications, Con Edison, District Council 37, MCU, SHARE-NY, Health First and REBNY.
