Senator Parker’s Statement For Governor Cuomo’s Announcement On SUNY Offering In-State Tuition For Students From The Bahamas Displaced By Hurricane Dorian

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that the State University of New York will offer in-state tuition for the 2019-20 academic year to students from the Bahamas who have been displaced by Hurricanes Dorian. State Senator Kevin Parker made the following statement in regards to that initiative:
“I am proud of Governor Cuomo for his leadership and forward thinking by allowing students from the Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian to reposition themselves here in NewYS State. On September 1st hurricane Dorian destroyed most of the islands of the Grand Bahama and Abaco. I applaud Governor Cuomo for understanding the hardships that has been plagued upon our neighbors in the Carribean and putting forth ready action, to help those, some of whom their entire life has been affected, the opportunity to continue their education at a SUNY school.”
