Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) supports the use of $128 million in new State funding to repave State roadways impacted by this year's harsh winter weather. Funding will support more than 90 paving projects across the state, including several projects in the 59th Senate District.  The new funding, provided through the PAVE NY Initiative, complements $100 million previously committed earlier this year for local projects that renew approximately 3,700 lane miles of road across New York State. The projects announced today will begin this spring and will be completed later this year.

“After another harsh winter, it is critical for the state to provide additional resources to repair our roads,” Senator Gallivan said.  “These additional investments will make state highways safer for motorists and pedestrians, while supporting local businesses and New York’s tourism industry.”

The current State Budget provides a record level $743 million in direct state aid to local governments for road and bridge repair and modernization. This critical infrastructure funding is supported through the New York State Department of Transportation's five-year capital plan. Through sustained investment in transportation infrastructure, including this latest infusion of $128 million in State funds to revitalize its roadways, New York State is enhancing the quality of life for all New Yorkers.

Local pavement renewal projects include:

  • $1.2 million to resurface Route 20 from Bowen Road to Townline Road in Erie County.
  • $310,000 to resurface Route 33 from Alden/Lancaster Town line to Walden Avenue in Erie County.
  • $1.0 million to resurface Route 39 from Mortons Corners to Route 219 in Erie County.
  • $300,000 to resurface Route 240 from Holland Glenwood Road to Boston Colden Road in Erie County.
  • $1.3 million to resurface Route 436 from the Wyoming/Livingston County Line to the Village of Nunda (West Village Line) in Livingston County.
  • $1.3 million to resurface Route 253 (Lehigh Station Road) from Route 15A to Route 65 in Monroe County.
  • $1.4 million to resurface Route 19 from Route 39 to Route 78 in Wyoming County.
