Senator Savino Announces Italian American Scholarship for 2020

Senator Diane Savino and The New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators are now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded at the Annual Italian-American Day in Albany for the 2020-2021 school year. at this year’s Italian-American Day on May 18th, 2020.
Please note-the submission deadline on the application is designated as March 16th, 2020 in order for us to ensure ample time for your application to be considered for the scholarship.
There will be two Academic Scholarships and two Athletic Scholarships offered in the amount of $4,000 each. These scholarships are available to current residents of New York State that are high school seniors entering college or current college students.
The Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is a bipartisan organization of New York State Senate and Assembly members who are actively involved in promoting and celebrating the State’s Italian-American community. The mission of the Conference is to work hard to elevate and highlight Italian-American contributions to the State of New York and beyond, in all aspects of society, including literature, the arts, architecture and politics.
Applicants will be judged based upon grade point average, good conduct, an interest in pursuing a higher education degree, involvement in community service and extracurricular activities, as well as individual financial need.
Applicants need not be of Italian-American heritage to apply.
