June 7, 2021
ALBANY, NY—“Today the Senate is leading the way in the fight against child poverty in New York, making a public commitment to reduce child poverty by half in ten years across our state. Poverty can have lasting and damaging effects on a child’s development. By creating this Taskforce, we will be able to make sure thoughtful, and intentional investments are made to tackle this critical issue—ensuring that no child is left without the support they need to grow and reach their full potential.”
