Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) joined Alden Town Supervisor Dean Adamski this week in announcing the completion of major repairs to the Alaura Sewer District #2. The district’s waste water treatment plant was in danger of imminent failure and needed to be replaced.
The nearly $1.5 million project was funded in part by a $125,000 State and Municipal grant secured by Senator Gallivan.
“Investing in local infrastructure projects is critical to the health and safety of our communities and residents,” Senator Gallivan said. “The state grant helped cover the cost of construction, reducing the amount of money the town needed to borrow for the project.”
The total cost of the project was $1,469,000.
