Senator Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) and his staff were thrilled to deliver over one hundred pairs of pajamas to EJ’s PJs for distribution to those in need in the community. Senator Mattera’s office collected the pajamas from caring constituents who donated them throughout the past two months.
EJ’s PJs has made its mission over the past 11 years to collect and distribute pajamas to the children and teens who need them the most. Started by Patricia Poggi, the effort is inspired by her three sons Edward, Jeremy and Patrick and involves the entire family and the local community. It grew out of the family’s holiday tradition of “Poggi Plaid Pajamas” when they decided as a family that they wanted to share their warm and happy feeling with those in need.
“Thank you to EJ’s PJs for leading this important effort and to all who were kind enough to donate. This will help make the holidays brighter and warmer for so many of our families. There is a persistent need for warm clothes and many people forget how important warm pajamas are for the children in our community. I hope this helps ensure that everyone can enjoy the holiday spirit,” stated Senator Mattera.
