Brooklyn, N.Y– State Senator Kevin Parker, in collaboration with START Treatment and Recovery Centers and the Sheraton Brooklyn New York Hotel, hosted a Career Symposium on Friday, April 28, 2023, to help job city job seekers explore potential career paths and secure employment opportunities. The partnership aimed to equip and empower individuals looking to elevate their careers and succeed professionally.
"I appreciate START Recovery and Treatment Centers and the Sheraton Brooklyn New York Hotel for helping connect New Yorkers to meaningful, transformative employment opportunities," said Senator Parker. "The career symposium aims to provide resources to help job seekers gain the skills and competencies they need to succeed and thrive in the global marketplace. I could not be more honored to participate in this incredible event and look forward to seeing many attendees achieve their career goals," concluded Senator Parker.
With over 401,407 unemployed in New York State, career symposium participants had a chance to interact with top organizational leaders from START Treatment and Recovery Centers to learn about the nonprofit's transformative work and employment opportunities that included administrative assistant, security guard, nurse practitioner, and behavioral health supervisor positions.
