Senator Mattera Working To Help Make Thanksgiving Happy For All

Senator Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) and his staff is working to ensure that all families in our region have a Happy Thanksgiving. To help our pantries provide our residents who suffer from food insecurity celebrate, Senator Mattera’s office will be collecting various Thanksgiving items so that everyone can enjoy the holiday with those they love.
The office will be collecting new unwrapped donations of items including:
- Canned Corn
- Canned Gravy
- Canned Pumpkin
- Canned Vegetables
- Cornbread Mix
- Stuffing
- Canned Cranberry Sauce
- Canned Cream of Mushroom
- Canned Fried Onions
- Mac and Cheese Mix
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Rice
- Instant Biscuits
The office is unable to accept any perishable items or any in glass containers.
Anyone who would like to donate is invited to visit Senator Mattera’s district office at 180 East Main Street, Suite 210, in Smithtown. Donations will be accepted from now through Friday, November 17th, during regular business hours.
All donations will be delivered to The Salvation Army of East Northport and local food pantries in time for holiday.
“Every family should be able to enjoy Thanksgiving and we hope that we can play a small role in making sure that they do. I appreciate all that our pantries do and am thrilled to help them accomplish their mission of making the holidays brighter for everyone. I hope everyone who is able to help will join us in ensuring that every adult and child has a very Happy Thanksgiving,” stated Senator Mattera.
