Senator Lea Webb Celebrates the Success of Her 2nd Annual Back to School Supplies Drive for Teachers

SOUTHERN TIER, NY – Senator Lea Webb proudly announces the successful completion of her 2nd Annual Back to School Supplies Drive for Teachers. This important initiative, aimed at providing much-needed supplies to teachers across Broome, Cortland, and Tompkins Counties, reflects Senator Webb's commitment to supporting educators and ensuring every student has the tools they need to thrive.

The drive, which collected supplies at 10 convenient drop-off locations throughout Senate District 52, was met with overwhelming community participation. With over 600 contributions, including essential items like notebooks, pencils, tissues, hand sanitizers, and art supplies, the drive exceeded expectations. These supplies will be distributed to various schools across the district, helping to alleviate the financial burden on teachers and ensuring classrooms are stocked with the necessary resources. By delivering these materials directly to educators, the initiative will enhance learning environments for students throughout the region.

“I am deeply moved by the outpouring of generosity from our community,” said Senator Lea Webb. “I’m glad that we have built upon the success of last year's inaugural drive, gathering over three times as many donations, joining with more community partners to host collection sites, and providing supplies to even more schools this year. Our teachers are the backbone of our education system, and ensuring they have the tools to succeed is a shared responsibility. I want to extend my sincerest thanks to every individual, family, and organization that contributed to this initiative.”

This year’s drive builds on the success of last year’s inaugural event, reaffirming Senator Webb’s commitment to education and community-driven solutions. By supporting this initiative, local residents have made a direct impact on the classroom experience, helping to foster a more equitable and enriching learning environment for students throughout the region.
