Senator Mattera Secures Funding for Huntington Community First Aid Squad
October 30, 2024
Senator Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) recently visited the Huntington Community First Aid Squad (HCFAS) to present the organization with $150,000 in state funding. This much-needed funding will help offset the cost of carbon monoxide monitoring devices and renovations at their headquarters.
The funding was allocated to HCFAS through a grant from New York State, though it was not delivered until now. Senator Mattera’s office worked closely with HCFAS President Fiona Witkowski to finalize the grant and secure the funding.
“I was happy to work with President Witkowski to ensure it was delivered so HCFAS can continue to provide essential services to our residents. This funding will support these dedicated first responders in their mission to assist our community, and I thank every member of HCFAS for their service to the region,” stated Senator Mattera.
“We are very grateful to Senator Mattera for his assistance in securing this grant from New York State, which will help us purchase essential equipment and update our ambulance headquarters. Thank you for visiting us; we look forward to working with you again in the future,” stated President Witkowski.
