Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Releases Summary of Enacted '24-'25 Budget

Albany, NY-- On Tuesday, June 4, the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources released its annual summary of the New York State Enacted Budget. The document identifies appropriations and legislation across eleven different categories from "Food and Agriculture" to "Education" to "Housing" and analyzes how spending and policy in the State Budget impacts rural New York.

"For the second year in a row, we are excited to share our summary of the New York State Budget and its impact on rural communities statewide. It's our goal to present a simple, digestible document with the hopes that anyone who is interested in New York's rural policies—from lawmakers to laypeople—can understand the investments and decisions that the state government made this fiscal year. We are grateful to be able to do this work and will continue to be a two-way street for communication between the Legislature and our rural communities," said Corey Mosher, executive director of the commission.

The bipartisan Legislative Commission on Rural Resources is composed of members from both the Senate and the Assembly. Albany's only independent body focused on the needs of rural New York, its goal is to promote and protect the state’s rural resources by making recommendations to the Legislature on policies and programs.
