Tedisco and Walsh Honor NYS Champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School Field Hockey Team

Albany--Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) today proudly honored at the state Capitol the 2024 New York State Class B Champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (BHBL) Field Hockey Team.

The BHBL Spartans defeated Lakeland High School in a 3-0 victory to win the state championship on November 17, 2024 at Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, New York.

Head coached by Kelly Vrooman, the Spartans ended their season with an undefeated 21-0 overall record.

Since 2012, the program has won 11 sectional titles, four consecutive Suburban Council Championship titles, six New York State Final Four appearances and now, two NYS Class B Championship titles. 

Senator Tedisco and Assemblywoman Walsh presented the teams with copies of legislative resolutions they passed in each house commemorating the BHBL team’s state championship season.
