Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) announced three local projects within the 60th NYS Senate District that are included in the latest round of grants funded by the state’s Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) Initiative. The funding supports housing and community projects in the Town of Evans and Village of Angola.
“These local projects align with the state’s overall economic development goals and will enhance the quality of life for residents,” Senator Gallivan said. “Investing in housing, small businesses and recreational assets will also create new opportunities in these communities.”
Projects within the 60th Senate District include:
-$300,000 For the Village of Angola to renovate commercial and residential units in the downtown business district to support small businesses and existing building owners in improving the environment.
-$111,000 For the Village of Angola to install a fitness court at Herman Park. The court will be free to use and fully accessible. Herman Park is the village’s primary recreational facility.
-$50,000 For the Town of Evans to implement a Waterfront Tourism Marketing Campaign to promote its Lake Erie shoreline as a year-round destination. The initiative will enhance branding, attract visitors, and stimulate local economic growth and infrastructure improvements.
The local projects are part of a total of $123 million allocated in the latest round of REDC funding.
The REDC process supports and empowers regional stakeholders in developing strategic plans and funding priorities that meet local economic needs. It is designed to provide expedited and streamlined access to grant funds and tax credits from dozens of existing programs.
