Now that the deadline is here, we are witnessing firsthand the distress that many New Yorkers are experiencing, whether they are losing their care, their employment, or finding themselves in limbo. All of this could have been avoided if this administration had not buried its head in the sand and had listened to the many stakeholders who warned them for months about this nightmare scenario."

The resulting service gaps will lead to unnecessary hospitalizations and may force many New Yorkers out of their communities and into more institutional settings.
