STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Every day the food news takes an unpredictable, sometimes very hard turn. But last week proved a particularly fun one. Here’s a taste of some of the edible greatness.
Sofia’s Guac Bar opened at 1210 Forest Av., 718-290-9429; SofiasTaqueriaNYC.com, now home to the second Sofia’s Guac Bar. The tiny digs at the corner of Llewellyn Place opened after two months of renovations.
At the Tuesday ribbon cutting arranged by Linda Baran of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, the festivities were assisted by Vincent Innocente of the St. George Theatre; Lily Zaffaranaloo of Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis’ office; N.Y. State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton; attorney Phil Mancuso and CTV’s head Jennifer Sammartino.
