State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently visited the newly renovated children’s room at the Deer Park Public Library where he had the chance to read books to some of the many children who are enjoying reading in the beautiful new room. The new children’s room was made possible through a $40,000 state grant that the Senator had secured for the library.
"I think it is important to create a comfortable environment that is conducive to learning and fostering a love of reading," said Senator Johnson. "The Deer Park Library has certainly accomplished this goal with the new Children’s Room that they’ve created. The kids absolutely love reading in the room. I’m delighted with the outcome and am pleased that I could help make this possible."
